On May 11, 2015, I received a letter offering me a spot at Ulster University as a PhD candidate. I filled out the paperwork that night and sent it shortly after. I am beyond excited. I was lucky and blessed to pursue my Master's in Scotland and graduate with a Merit. Now, I beyond lucky and blessed to pursue my PhD in Ireland. For the next three years, I will be studying, reading, writing, and hopefully traveling.
The crazy part is, as soon as I said yes, I got an offer for an interview for a job in England. After a long waiting period and applications, the perfect opportunity came along. As a friend of mine predicted, 2 things will come at once....and they did. He also said, good things come to those who wait. It truly does pay off to keep trying and waiting. I am so glad I said yes!
I did it! In 3 years, I will have my doctorate!
